SUMMER AT THE CINEMA

Photo taken from Google Images

Every seat taken, glowing phone screens lighting the theater before the film, the smell of over prized popcorn and snacks, annoyingly shimming your way down the aisle for a quick run to the bathroom, the site of couples on dates, and groups of friends all setting aside time to see the latest movie release. Rewind four months back and I would be one to avoid all that. Especially in recent years with cheap and easy access to Netflix and RedBox I much preferred not going to the movies at all. But I've traded in a dark living room to myself for a packed theater and a large sized popcorn to share.

While the editing, CGI, and 3-D have changed the look of the films, the experience has remained the same as it was in the early days at the theater. Loudly laughing among strangers, jumping in your seat while watching a horror film, to sometimes even getting teary eyed. Just the experience of experiencing it together with friends, in a room full of people makes it that much more enjoyable. I now love going to the movies, it's actually one of my new favorite things. And here is a list of the movies I've seen over the last few months:

The Great Gatsby | Oz: The Great and Powerful | This is the End | Man of Steel | World War Z | The Heat | Grown Ups 2 | The Hangover Part III | We're the Millers | The Way Way Back | 1D: This Is Us (twice, lol)

I'd say it was a great summer at the cinema. By the way, yes we actually say movies over here in the states but saying cinema just sounds so much better!
