BLUES ON THE GREEN

This past Wednesday crowds of people gathered for yet another fun Blues on the Green night. Groups sat together on colorful blankets spewn across the Zilker Park lawn and alongside coolers filled with cold drinks and foods to snack. Blues on the Green is Austin's biggest summer concert series where every other Wednesday thousands flock to Zilker to indulge in some free live music. The evening I went was the final concert for the summer and White Denim, My Jerusalem, and The Preservation, were playing for our hearing pleasure. In between acts we walked along the perimeter of the green to check out the interactive booths as well as the food and drink stalls set up from local hot spots. We then returned to our small little piece of grass and plopped a spot to enjoy our chocolate and toffee covered frozen bananas, people watch, and enjoy the indie rock sounds till sundown.
